SI.com analyzes the three biggest commitments of the past week: Braxton Burmeister to Arizona, Derrick Tucker to Texas A&M and Phil Jurkovec to Notre Dame.

SI.com is analyzing the three biggest commitments of the week. Quarterback Braxton Burmeister pledged to Arizona, safety Derrick Tucker announced he plans to attend Texas A&M and quarterback Phil Jurkovec revealed he’s headed to Notre Dame. Below is some information on each of the three prospects, with analysis from Scout.com.

Braxton Burmeister

Position: Quarterback
Height/Weight: 6’1’’/195 lbs
High School: La Jolla Country Day (Calif.)
Scout.com position rank: 19
Scout.com national rank: 269

Analysis (from Scout.com)

Burmeister is a dual-threat QB who can stress a team with his arm and his legs. When he breaks containment, he's very explosive and runs like a running back in the open field. He has a strong arm and can get the ball down the field and make all the throws. Burmeister has a thick frame and is tough to bring down in the open field. He can spin away from would be tacklers and runs the zone read very affectively. He looks very comfortable throwing outside the pocket and has improved as a pocket passer as well

Derrick Tucker

Position: Safety
Height/Weight: 6’2’’/194 lbs
High School: Manvel (Tex.)
Scout.com position rank: 7
Scout.com national rank: 114

Analysis (from Scout.com)

ucker is a defender who brings a certain confidence and swagger to the field. He plays with an aggressive style. He's a big hitter who can live in the box using his size to disrupt and enforce his will. He could grow into a hybrid-style linebacker as he matures. He closes on the ball well, he shows good instincts in the secondary, and he makes plays on the football. He can still work on his bursts in and out of his breaks when he is in coverage and his quickness when changing directions laterally, but all of the tools are in place for him to star on the next level and we expect him to be one. The one question being what position will truely fit him the best.

Phil Jurkovec (2018)

Position: Quarterback
Height/Weight: 6’5.5’’/201 lbs
High School: Pine-Richland (Pa.)
Scout.com position rank: N/A
Scout.com national rank: N/A

Analysis (from Scout.com)

Jurkovec is young, but he has dual-threat capabilities and is a read-option quarterback. He can make yards with his feet, but he is at his best throwing down the field. He is able to get through progressions, and he has good arm strength. He release needs to tighten up and become quicker. He can throw to the sidelines or down the seam. He keeps his eyes down the field. He is gaining comfort in the pocket. Adding strength is a must.
