Baylor hires Jim Grobe as interim head coach

Baylor has named former Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe its interim head coach, the university announced Monday.
The move comes four days after the school announced that it had terminated coach Art Briles in response to a sexual assault scandal that has rocked the university.
Last week, an independent report completed by the Pepper Hamilton law firm found that the football program and athletic department had failed in its handling of a number of sexual assault and domestic violence cases involving football players.
The remainder of the coaching staff that worked under Briles is expected to stay with the program through the 2016 season, according to Baylor247.
Grobe has spent 19 seasons as a head coach, working with Wake Forest and Ohio.

In 13 seasons leading the Demon Deacons, Grobe compiled a 77–82 record. His program saw its most success from 2006–08, posting a 28–12 record and winning its second ACC Championship in 2006.
However, Grobe failed to earn a winning record in his last five seasons, eventually resigning in 2013.
He has an all-time record of 110–115–1.
