D-II Baseball Player Throws No-Hitter, Hits for Cycle in Same Game

Brady Ware, a graduate student-athlete for D-II University of Indianapolis, put together a historic performance on Friday afternoon in the team’s 13–0 victory over Drury University.

Ware threw a no-hitter and hit for the cycle in the team’s victory, putting together one of the most impressive performances in the last several years across any level of college baseball.

Ware’s performance came in the second game of a doubleheader, meaning the games were only seven innings in length. Ware threw a complete game seven-inning shutout, allowing no hits and striking out 11 batters.

At the plate, he went 4-for-4 with a single, double, triple and home run to complete the cycle. He finished the game with 5 RBI.

Ware’s no-hitter was the first since 2015 for the Greyhounds, while his cycle was the first for the school since 2013. He became the first player in school history to accomplish both a no-hitter and cycle in the same game, and also may be the first-ever college baseball player to complete the feat at any level.

Ware’s performance put UIndy baseball on the map, turning an ordinary D-II baseball game into an extraordinary performance.
