Deion Sanders Says He Was ‘Amazed’ With Colorado’s Spring Game Crowd

The University of Colorado football program held its spring game on Saturday, with fans flocking to the stadium to catch a glimpse of the magic Deion Sanders is cooking up in Boulder.

Since taking over as the head coach of the Buffaloes, Sanders has captivated the interest of fans. It was immediately clear on Saturday how much more attention is on the football team this season, following the hiring of Sanders and the subsequent additions he made to the squad as he looks to turn the program around.

After a huge turnout during Saturday’s spring game, Sanders expressed his excitement over the packed stadium.

“I was amazed,” Sanders said of the crowd at Folsom Field, via ESPN. "It was a moment you'll never forget."

Sanders’ son, Shedeur Sanders, is competing for the Buffaloes’ starting quarterback role. He performed well in the spring game, earning praise from his father.

“What did you expect? He's a Sanders!” said Deion of his son.

Colorado figures to be one of the most intriguing programs heading into the 2023 season, and Sanders has plenty of eyes on the football team already. Fans fended off cold weather and even some snow in order to show support for Sanders and the Buffs.

Considering last year’s spring game featured a practically empty stadium, it’s abundantly clear that there’s been a momentum shift in Boulder, and Sanders expressed his appreciation for the support the team received on Saturday.
