Deion Sanders Provides Timeline For Colorado’s Travis Hunter After Injury
The Colorado State vs. Colorado matchup in Boulder on Saturday night provided plenty of sparks along with a number of moments that left fans scratching their heads. The egregiously late-hit on Buffaloes star Travis Hunter at the hands of Rams defensive back Henry Blackburn certainly qualified as the latter.
After a pass from Shedeur Sanders had cleared Hunter and the initial Colorado State defender, Blackburn flew in and laid a hit on Hunter. The result of that was Hunter leaving the game and in turn, it appears he’ll miss extended time.
After the game, Colorado’s Deion Sanders, or ‘Coach Prime,’ addressed the injury and discussed the health and timeline for Hunter to reporters.
“The first thing I heard is that he would be out for a few weeks. I heard that for sure, but we’re gonna do what we’ve gotta do to take care of him. I know Travis like a book, he’s probably gonna want to be out for two weeks. But his health is more important than this game,” Sanders said, per FOX College Football.
Hunter finished the night with two catches for 21 yards prior to the first-quarter injury. Colorado, who went into halftime down 21-14, rallied in the fourth quarter behind a 98-yard touchdown drive facilitated by Shedeur Sanders to force overtime and two extra time periods later, Coach Prime’s team sealed the victory 43-35.
