Portland State Wins Game 91–0 Two Weeks After Losing 81–7

Portland State, a resident of the Big Sky conference school in the FCS, picked up its first win of the season on Saturday in emphatic fashion, running it up 91–0 on the “North American Stallions.”

Yes, that is indeed a college football program in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), located in Stafford, Texas.

Portland State finished with 427 yards of offense on the day and went 7-for-9 on third down. North American went 1-for-15 on third down, gained a whopping -23 total yards including 26 passing yards and -49 rushing yards. North American also had eight penalties for 65 yards and turned it over twice.

Portland State led 63–0 at halftime, thanks to a 42-point second quarter. The Vikings went on to score 28 points in the third quarter, which included a pick-six and a 60-yard punt return score. After being on pace for well over 100 points through three quarters, there were no points scored in the fourth quarter.

It was quite the win for Portland State, exacting payback on an opponent that was from a lower level of college football and well overmatched. The Vikings should know exactly what that feels like, having lost to Oregon 81–7 in Week 1 of the college football season.

Thanks to the 91–0 final on Saturday, it’s safe to say that the Vikings’ point differential for the season is looking a bit better heading into Week 4.
