In this story:

Bryce James, the younger son of NBA great LeBron James, attended Ohio State football’s game against Maryland on Saturday afternoon. Hours after the game—a 37–17 OSU victory—wrapped, the 2025 hoops recruit said that he received a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes’ men’s basketball program.

“Blessed to receive an offer from Ohio state #GoBuckeyes,” James posted.

Bryce’s recruitment promises to be a significant one over the next few years. Ohio State was in the running for his older brother Bronny James, who ultimately committed to USC.

Bryce recently transferred to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Calif., after two years as a teammate of his brother at Sierra Canyon High School. He received his first scholarship offer from Duquesne back in Aug. 22.

While it is no surprise that coach Chris Holtmann opted to offer the son of LeBron, a longtime Buckeyes supporter, the move signals that the recruitment is likely to start heating up as James’s junior season nears.
