Texas QB Quinn Ewers Set to Return From Injury Saturday vs. TCU

Ahead of a crucial road game in a crowded Big 12 race, Texas is set to welcome back the most pivotal piece of its offense.

Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers will return from his shoulder injury on Saturday against TCU, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian announced Thursday afternoon.

Ewers has missed the Longhorns’ past two games after injuring his shoulder in Texas’s 31–24 win over Houston on Oct. 21. With quarterback Maalik Murphy leading the charge, the Longhorns topped BYU 35–6 and escaped Kansas State 33–30 in overtime.

When healthy this season, Ewers has tossed 13 touchdowns against three interceptions in seven games—including a 349-yard, three-touchdown outing against Alabama on Sept. 9.

Texas is currently 8–1, tied for first in the Big 12 with Oklahoma State and ranked seventh in the weekly College Football Playoff poll. The Longhorns have games against the Horned Frogs, Iowa State and Texas Tech remaining before a potential Big 12 championship game on Dec. 2.
