Following three strong years at the University of Idaho, wide receiver Trez Traynor announced that he would enter the transfer portal. On Saturday, Traynor announced his commitment to the Tulane Green Wave.

Prior to going to the FCS level, Traynor was at Western Kentucky for a season, but didn't see much action. In his three years at Idaho, Traynor recorded 79 receptions for 1,158 yards and five touchdowns.

In 2023, Traynor was third on the Vandals in receiving yards and fourth on the team in touchdown receptions. His 6'3", 205-pound stature brings length to a Tulane wide receiver group that already has some size.

The addition of Traynor certainly makes up for the lost depth, especially at the top of the wide receiver room. The Green Wave already lost wide receivers Chris Brazzell who went to Tennessee and Tyrek Presley who has yet to make a decision on what his next school will be. Brazzell led the team in receiving yards in 2023. QB Michael Pratt is expected to be one of the higher QBs selected in the 2024 NFL Draft.

In 2023, the Green Wave ranked ninth in passing offense amongst the American Athletic Conference. Adding more targets, but one that actually saw a limited amount of experience at the FBS level in Traynor, certainly helps.
