Cheerleader Ties Guinness World Record with 44 Consecutive Back Handsprings

Wednesday October 23rd, 2013

Mikayla Clark, a junior at Westlake High School in Atlanta, tied the previous Guinness World Record of 44 back handsprings. She started cheerleading when she was four years old and had been working diligently towards this dizzying achievement since the beginning of football season.

Update: A previous version of this story said that she broke the record, when it was in fact tied, but the whole situation is sorta ambiguous.
