Jevon Kearse to Compete in Dominican Poker Tournament

Former NFL star defensive end Jevon Kearse, nicknamed "The Freak" for running a 4.43 40-yard dash and having an 86-inch wingspan, will try his hand in poker.

The 37-year-old will play in the PPC Puerto Plata Poker Open, taking place from April 1-7 at Coral Reef Casino in the Dominican Republic. Not only is he playing, he's something of a special guest, featured on the official tournament poster.


It's hard to tell whether Kearse's participation is good or bad news to the fact that the former NFL star, who was having problems with the IRS and facing a foreclosure on his home last year.
