O.J. Simpson's stolen Heisman Trophy found after 20 years
After 20 years missing from USC, O.J. Simpson's stolen Heisman Trophy has been found, the Los Angeles Times reports.
LAPD announced the recovery of the trophy on Tuesday, though detectives from the department's art theft detail say they located the crown jewel on Dec. 16. No further details will be released because the theft is still considered an ongoing investigation. A Dec. 1 search warrant was issued for phone records and tracking information pertaining to a suspect, whose name was redacted on the warrant.
The trophy -- USC's copy -- was on display in the athletic department when it was stolen in July 1994. LAPD believes two thieves unscrewed the covers off the trophy's case, and also made away with one of Simpson's old jerseys.

Simpson won the Heisman in 1968 after rushing for 1,880 yards and 23 touchdowns.
Simpson, 66, sold his copy of the Heisman (pictured above) to help defray court costs, according to the Times. He is currently serving time in a Nevada prison after a 2007 confrontation with two sports memorabilia collectors in a Las Vegas hotel room landed him a dozen charges connected to an alleged armed robbery. Simpson was convicted and sentenced to 33 years in prison after three co-defendants pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against him.
