The scoreboard at the Kings-Rangers game is just a bit off

The Los Angeles Kings hosted the New York Rangers on Thursday night, and things got a little out of hand in the first period.

The Los Angeles Kings hosted the New York Rangers on Thursday night in the teams' first game since last season's Stanley Cup Finals, and things got a little out of hand in the first period at Staples Center.

So many things could've happened here. Did a Rangers fan sneak into the scoreboard area and change it? Was the operator bored and fell asleep, hitting his/her head on the 9? Was it a test to see if fans were paying attention?

OK, it was probably just an accident. But it's amusing nonetheless. Unless, maybe, if you're a Kings fan.
