Video: Hornets' P.J. Hairston makes his case for NBA flop of the year

Charlotte Hornets guard P.J. Hairston attempted an egregious flop on Wednesday night at home in a 98-93 loss against the Spurs.

Hairston, who finished the game with 11 points and three rebounds, made contact with Spurs guard Tony Parker while playing defense. Hairston then made one of the saddest attempts at flopping you'll ever see. You can see the play in slow motion:

San Antonio snapped Charlotte's five-game winning streak. Manu Ginobili led the Spurs with 27 points off the bench while Kemba Walker scored a game-high 28 for the Hornets. San Antonio improved to 24-16. Charlotte fell to 15-25.

Wednesday night also marked Lance Stephenson's return from a pelvic injury that kept him out the last 14 games. Stephenson added eight points in a restricted 18 minutes for Charlotte. Despite the Spurs' win and Stephenson's return, it's clear the real star was Hairston who as far as we can tell, learned his timing from this guy.
