Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater surprises fan, takes her to prom

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater surprised a fan by taking her to prom in Louisville, Ky., on Friday.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater gave a young fan a tremendous surprise on Friday night when he took her to prom in Louisville, Ky.

Ashley Davis, a junior at Christian Academy of Louisville, was dressed up and ready to when Bridgewater showed up to take photos as her date.

Bridgewater's reasoning? None other than to just do a good thing.

"I felt that it was the right thing to do," Bridgewater told WLKY in Louisville. "It was a good thing to do. It really touched me when I first met her, how she kind of teared up and everything. It just shows that sort of I made an impact here on the playing field on and off the playing field. Ashley, she is just a great girl and I am going to make sure that she has a good time tonight."

Davis was clearly surprised, telling WKLY that she teared up when the two took their surprise prom photos together. Bridgewater, of course, played three seasons at Louisville before the Vikings drafted him with the No. 32 pick in the 2014 NFL draft.

Bridgewater himself said he held back a tear or two as well.

"Oh man, that was a great feeling," Bridgewater said. "I almost shed a tear, but no one saw that. It was caught in the corner of my eye. It's just a priceless moments. It's just one of those moments that just makes you feel very good."
