American runner finishes 1500m race after losing a shoe

The women’s 1,500-meter race at the World Championships in Beijing was held on Tuesday, and Jenny Simpson of the U.S. had some shoe difficulty that led to her jettisoning her left sneaker for the final 600 meters.
Hats off to @trackjenny, who finished that race without her left shoe. Looks like it flew off with about 300m to go. pic.twitter.com/CiLGkDh3Ij
