After defeating the Cardinals 49–15 in the NFC Championship Game to advance the Super Bowl, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton reflected on the team’s season like only he could.

When asked about Carolina’s progression, Newton made a southern cooking analogy to sum up how the team had gotten to the league’s title game.

“It was a process,” Newton said. “It wasn’t going to be instant grits, quick grits. It was going to be a process like long cooked collard greens. And I think those collard greens are brewing right now. You can smell it from a mile away”

Great, Cam. Now we’re hungry. Thanks for nothing.
