The Florida Panthers are retiring one of the NHL’s most fun traditions.
After being eliminated from the playoffs by the Islanders, the Panthers say they’re done awarding a hoodie with Kevin Spacey’s face floating in outer space to each game’s MVP.
.@FlaPanthers Shawn Thornton says #SpaceyInSpace is retired now that season's over. He may auction original hoodie to benefit his foundation

The whole thing began in December during a 12-game winning streak, when Thornton found the hoodie on a trip to New York. Eventually the Panthers started selling the hoodies and donating the proceeds to charity.
Spacey himself was a fan of the tradition, and even showed up at a game last month sporting the hoodie.
Only I really know what #SpaceyInSpace means. Hope it continues to bring good luck! -K🚀#FlaPanthers @Barkovsasha95 https://t.co/2hOqoQK9Aw
