Vin Scully and David Ortiz have received similar adulation in their final seasons in baseball and on Sunday the two had the chance to meet.

With Ortiz in Los Angeles to play the Dodgers, he went up to Scully’s booth before the series finale to pay his respects. What followed was a standoff between the beloved broadcaster and the beloved slugger as neither could agree who was more excited to meet the other or who will be missed more.

Here’s the video tribute Ortiz was referring to, which was shown before the first game of the series on Friday.

Ortiz has only been playing baseball for 20 years while Scully has been behind the mike for 67, so you can understand why he’d tease Big Papi about coming back.
