Watch: The Sixers fulfilled Joel Embiid’s request to introduce him as ‘The Process’

Joel Embiid has a new nickname, and Sixers fans love it.

“Trust the Process” isn’t just a sarcastic three-word phrase NBA fans deploy whenever the 76ers embarrass themselves. For Sixers fans, and now, even some players, it’s a wholly earnest mantra. 

Rookie center Joel Embiid has been particularly enamored with Sam Hinkie’s epitaph, telling Sports Illustrated’s Lee Jenkins “I’m the Process.” He also asked the Sixers’ PA announcer to introduce him as Joel “The Process” Embiid before games.

The request was ignored for the first two games of the season, but Embiid got his wish on Tuesday night.

Embiid had a double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds) but the Sixers lost again. The Process is still ongoing.
