Indiana handed North Carolina its first loss of the season on Wednesday and no one was happier than Isiah Thomas.

The game pitted Thomas’s alma mater against that of his longtime rival, Michael Jordan. When the game was locked up, Thomas grabbed a massive Crying Jordan face from the student section and grinned like he’d just a won a championship.

The animosity dates back to 1991, when Thomas refused to shake Jordan’s hand after the Bulls beat the Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals. A year later, Thomas was left off the Olympic roster, in part, because Jordan didn’t want to play with him.

MJ must have spent the night crying, and using his championship rings and Olympic medals to wipe the tears.
