Bills Share Wild Photos From Stadium Amid Huge Snowstorm in Buffalo

The Week 11 game between the Bills and the Browns was moved from Buffalo to Detroit in anticipation of a blizzard that’s forecasted to dump multiple feet of snow in upstate New York.

Well, the storm has already begun, and the images out of Buffalo are surreal, to say the least.

The Bills shared a series of photos from Highmark Stadium on Friday with the downpour in full swing. A full, white blanket of snow covered the field, the seats and just about everything in sight, providing a fair amount of evidence as to why the NFL felt the need to move the game to Ford Field.

The area surrounding Highmark Stadium has already received three feet of snow, with more still expected to fall as the weekend continues on. The storm caused the Bills to cancel practice on Friday, with the team deciding to meet virtually instead.

There’s some question as to whether or not the team will be able to get out of Buffalo on Saturday given that the heavy snowfall has already made it difficult for the team to convene in person. According to Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN, a handful of players who live in the Orchard Park area are among those without power due to the storm.

The Bills still anticipate being able to travel Saturday but may push back their scheduled departure time, depending on what the weather brings over the next 24 hours.

“Playing a little bit of a wait-and-see game right now but anticipating having to move some things back in the morning if [the snow] does slow down,” coach Sean McDermott said Friday. “Which that’s the latest we’re hearing, is it’s supposed to slow down early tomorrow morning around the stadium here and in Orchard Park and whatnot, and then give guys time to dig out, make sure their families are good, and then we’ll head into the facility, probably in a moved back schedule, just to allow for that.”

As of Friday, the game against the Browns is still on as scheduled. Kickoff is expected to be at 1 p.m. ET at Ford Field in Detroit on Sunday.
