J.J. Watt Comments on Retirement Paperwork After Tom Brady Report

After ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Tom Brady filed a letter to the NFL and NFLPA on Friday that reconfirmed his retirement, defensive end J.J. Watt responded to the report in hysterical fashion.

“I was unaware there was paperwork … Definitely not gonna fill that out, but definitely retired,” Watt tweeted on Friday afternoon.

It is not the first time that Watt has responded to a retirement report involving Brady. After Brady formally announced that he was stepping away from the game in an Instagram video on Feb. 1, Watt wasted no time sending his congratulations to the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

“Greatest of all time. No question, no debate. It’s been an honor and a privilege. P.S. - The newly retired group meets on the golf course every morning at 10 am. Drinks are on the new guy, so bring your wallet,” he tweeted.

The letter in question that was submitted by Brady squashed any notion that he would return next season, and officially makes him eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2028. Brady is sure to be joined by Watt as a first-ballot Hall of Famer, as the greatest quarterback of all time and one of the greatest defensive ends in the history of the game are sure to enter Canton together.
