Cardinals’ Oscar Mercado Wiped Out on Hilariously Bad Strike, and MLB Fans Loved It

While the World Baseball Classic has been all the rage the past few weeks, there still have been MLB spring training games going on, and we’ve been able to see some pretty cool things so far, including one of the most embarrassing swinging strikes of the year.
It happened Sunday in a Cardinals-Mets game in Port St. Lucie, Fla., when Tylor Megill threw some high heat inside on Óscar Mercado. The Cardinals center fielder committed to swinging and just couldn’t stop himself.
How’d that go for him? Not well at all. You never want to end up on the ground after swinging and missing at a pitch, but that’s what happened here:
