Chiefs Superfan on the Run From Police After Alleged Bank Robbery, per Report
A Chiefs superfan accused of robbing an Oklahoma bank is reportedly on the run from police after missing his court hearing and the discovery of his court-mandated GPS monitor in a wooded area, Kevin Draper of The New York Times reported Monday.
In December, Xavier Michael Babudar, well known as “ChiefsAholic,” was arrested in connection to a bank robbery in Bixby, Okla. Babudar, who attends Chiefs games in a wolf costume, was released from jail and awaiting trail after bail bondsman Michael Lloyd paid the $80,000 bond. Babudar’s hearing was set for Monday, but he never showed up.
“I did want to help him because he is K.C. wolfman,” Lloyd told Draper. “I have followed him for years. And yeah I wanted to help him. What is crazy is I still want to help him.”
The GPS monitor was found with its strap cut off in a wooded area close to a store called Academy Sports + Outdoors in Tulsa. The monitor’s tamper alert went off on Saturday night, and when Lloyd went to Babudar’s Tulsa County hotel, Babudar was not there.
Nobody seems to know where Babudar is.
“I don’t know anything about it,” said Tracy Tiernan, Babudar’s lawyer. “I reached out to him and have not had a response.”
Since Babudar skipped his hearing, Tulsa Judge Michelle Keely issued a warrant for his arrest with a bond set at $1 million.
