Charles Barkley Admits He Turned on NHL Playoffs Amid ‘Boring’ Timberwolves-Nuggets Game

The first half of Game 4 between the Nuggets and Timberwolves didn’t come with much excitement, at least not if you ask Charles Barkley. During the Inside the NBA halftime show on TNT, Ernie Johnson joked that the game could “use a Red Bull,” prompting a surprising admission from Barkley.

Seemingly not impressed by the action on the court, Barkley hilariously admitted that he’d actually tuned out of the game, switching over to TBS to enjoy some Stanley Cup playoff hockey rather than watch Denver and Minnesota battle in Game 4.

“I was watching hockey on TBS, I’m not gonna lie,” said Barkley. “But this game was boring as hell.”

The Nuggets entered halftime with a 52–48 lead over the Timberwolves, but the battle on the court seemingly lost the attention of the TNT crew.

While Nikola Jokic led the charge for Denver on the hardwood as they attempted to close out a series sweep of Karl-Anthony Towns and the T-Wolves, Barkley was honed in on the clash between the Oilers and Kings, who were also battling in their own Game 4.

Despite Barkley and Johnson voicing their displeasure over the game, it seems Minnesota and Denver have gained a fan in Kenny Smith, who said he “loved” the first half of the showdown.

Hopefully, the TNT crew can find a bit more enjoyment from the game during the second half.
