Reported $1.1 Billion Offer From Saudi Arabian Club for Mbappé Had All Sports Fans in a Frenzy

First, it was Lionel Messi joining the MLS, and now it’s a reported record-breaking offer for French soccer star Kylian Mbappé that’s set the sports world on fire. According to Front Office Sports, Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal has made a world-record offer to acquire the 24-year-old star from Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain.

Per the report, the package is worth a total of $1.1 billion for one year and includes:

  • $332 million transfer fee to PSG
  • $776 million salary for one season to Mbappé

As Front Office Sports also details, this would allow the star to leave for Real Madrid next summer if he opted to. James Benge of CBS Sports also reported that Al-Hilal is amendable to a longer deal if Mbappé were to prefer that.

Not surprisingly, the offer set the internet into a frenzy and had fans of literally all sports, including the NFL, NBA, and others basically losing it over the news.
