After James Harden publicly called team executive Daryl Morey “a liar” earlier this week, 76ers star Joel Embiid changed up his profile on X (formerly known as Twitter), removing “Processing” from his bio and removing Philadelphia as his location.

Naturally, basketball fans went crazy on social media, trying to decipher whether Embiid was trolling the internet as he is well known for, or if he was seriously contemplating asking out of Philadelphia amid the drama within the organization.

ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne joined 97.5 “The Fanatic” in Philadelphia to discuss the 76ers drama, and gave no indication that an Embiid trade request was close.

“He is happy to be a Sixer,” Shelburne said. “I don’t think this is a precursor to something. I think this is Joel Troel,” she added.

“Troel” is what Embiid has in his profile name on X, an obvious nod to him being a social media troll.

Embiid is no stranger to internet antics, and he clearly knew that he’d stir up the masses if he changed up his profile on X. Chalk it up to Joel being Joel, as there’s no indication he’ll be leaving the 76ers anytime soon.
