Stefon Diggs Responds to Stephen A. Smith's Rumor About Wanting Out of Buffalo

Bills star Stefon Diggs was the subject of a report from ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith on Monday, who claimed his sources told him the wide receiver wants to be traded out of Buffalo.

Smith made his comments on the latest segment of ESPN’s First Take, claiming that Diggs has “lost a level of belief” in the team.

The three-time Pro Bowler heard the comments from Smith and he took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to clear the air and shoot down the claims from the 55-year-old.

“100% not true. I don’t know who the source is but I thought I nip this sh** in the bud already,” wrote Diggs on Monday afternoon.

The 29-year-old then posted another message on the social media platform, expressing his love for the Bills. 

“Rocking wit my dawgs… Bills mafia through and through!!!” said Diggs on X, adding some red and blue heart emojis. 

In his report on First Take, Smith claimed that while Diggs wants to leave the Bills, the wideout has no intention of forcing his way out. Smith also claimed there was some “friction” between Diggs and the franchise at the start of training camp.

The eight-year veteran missed the first day of mandatory minicamp back in June, prompting head coach Sean McDermott to say he was “very concerned,” though Diggs returned the following day and his absence was later excused.

Diggs is entering his fourth season in Buffalo. Last year, he caught 108 passes for 1,429 yards and 11 touchdowns.
