Yankees Radio Announcer Suzyn Waldman Blasts Team’s Play on Hot Mic

Longtime Yankees radio announcer Suzyn Waldman was caught on a hot mic blasting the team’s play during Tuesday night’s broadcast.

New York extended its losing streak to nine games with a 2–1 loss at the hands of Washington on Tuesday. New York only amassed two hits in the defeat, and looked lifeless once again as the team slid to a 60–65 record and further into the cellar of the AL East.

With the score tied 1–1 at the end of the fourth inning, Waldman was caught on a hot mic coming out of a commercial break declaring “God, this is boring,” according to Awful Announcing.

Waldman, along with fellow radio announcer John Sterling, have been frequently critical of the Yankees during this recent slide, but this blunt statement by Waldman is the cherry on top of a season that has gone completely sideways for New York.

The Yankees are well on their way to missing the playoffs despite having the second-highest payroll in baseball, which could put executive Brian Cashman and manager Aaron Boone in jeopardy of losing their jobs this offseason.
