Anthony Richardson Gave Eagles Fans a Taste of Their Own Medicine With Celebration

Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson isn’t lacking any confidence during the preseason.

During Thursday’s matchup with the Eagles, Indianapolis’s starting quarterback led a 52-yard touchdown drive on the team’s second possession of the game.

Despite the touchdown coming on a three-yard run from running back Deon Jackson, Richardson celebrated by running into the end zone and hitting the “Fly Eagles Fly” celebration right in the face of Philadelphia fans at Lincoln Financial Field.

Richardson boldly waved his arms as if he were flapping a set of wings after completing both of his pass attempts on the touchdown drive, which knotted the game up at 7–7. He also scrambled for a six-yard pickup as the Colts moved the ball down field.

Richardson, who was the No. 4 pick in the 2023 NFL draft, was named the Colts’ starting quarterback earlier this month. He’s seen action in two of Indianapolis’s three preseason games.

The confident rookie figures to make his regular-season NFL debut in Week 1 when Indy takes on the Jaguars at home at Lucas Oil Stadium.
