Matthew Stafford's Wife Expresses Remorse For Comments About Rams Locker Room

Matthew Stafford’s wife Kelly made some eye-opening comments on her podcast about the Rams locker room last week, for which she’s now expressing remorse.

During a recent episode of “The Morning After With Kelly Stafford,” Kelly opened up on how her husband has experienced difficulty in trying to connect with some of his younger teammates.

During a one-on-one interview with Local 4’s Christy McDonald, Stafford expressed that the podcast comments were “probably the worst thing I’ve done when it comes to [Matthew].”

“I spoke on a topic that I think, it’s relatable, to the fact that it’s hard to relate to someone who is 10 years younger than you. And I do think that’s entirely true. But I’m not in an NFL locker room, I’m not spending every day with these teammates,” said Kelly.

“That was tough. I say all the time, probably not the best if your wife’s name is in the media, if it’s talking about sports. I felt pretty bad last week. I put my foot in my mouth pretty good last week,” she added.

Head coach Sean McVay was asked about Kelly’s comments, though he said he views them as more of a “joke at the old man.”

Stafford, 35, is the oldest player on the Rams’ active roster. There are only three players on the 53-man roster over the age of 30, while there are 25 players under the age of 25.
