Cowboys’ Season to Date
Dallas heads into Detroit following a 28-24 loss to Minnesota during the Week 10 Sunday Night Football game. Down 14-0 after the first quarter, the Cowboys (5-4) were playing catch up all night against the visiting Vikings. This was a tough loss for Dallas, who outgained Minnesota by a 443-346 total yards margin on offense.
Cowboys’ Betting Record: ATS 5-4-0 OVER/UNDER 6-3-0
Cowboys’ Leaders on Offense

RB Ezekiel Elliott: 980 total yards with 6 TD
WR Amari Cooper: 848 receiving yards with 7 TD

Lions’ Season To Date
Detroit is watching a once-promising season slip away as it looks to rebound from a 20-13 loss to the Bears in Chicago last week. Already missing top RB Kerryon Johnson, the Lions (3-5-1) were also without QB Matthew Stafford, who sat out with a back injury. That snapped a streak of 136 consecutive starts for Stafford, who was having a banner year.
Lions’ Betting Record: ATS 4-5-0 OVER/UNDER 6-3-0
Lions’ Leaders on Offense
*QB Jeff Driskel: 269 pass yards with 1 TD and 1 INT
RB J.D. McKissic: 310 total yards with 1 TD
WR Kenny Golladay: 697 receiving yards with 8 TD
TE: T. J. Hockenson: 343 receiving yards with 2 TD
* Jeff Driskel replaces injured starter Matthew Stafford
Recent History Favors Dallas Slightly Over Detroit
Detroit and Dallas are meeting for a second straight year, The Cowboys snuck past the Lions 26-24 during Week 4 action last season, but failed to cover the short -3 price. That contest was at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, as was the Cowboys’ 42-21 win in 2016, plus Dallas’s 24-20 Wild Card game victory during the 2015 NFL playoffs.
Lions vs. Cowboys Final Thoughts and Pick
Dallas had its two-game winning streak snapped by Minnesota and its NFC East lead is now down to a tiebreaker over Philadelphia, who was on a bye last week. The Cowboys couldn’t stop Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (183 total yards 1 TD) last week, but the Lions don’t have a back of that caliber. Defense and injuries will be the difference here.
Detroit ranks 30th in defense, allowing 402.2 yards per game. Dallas, meanwhile, ranks seventh on defense, giving up 323.3 YPG. Furthermore, Detroit is giving up 26.3 PPG while Dallas has allowed 18.9 PPG. Amari Cooper and Randall Cobb both topped 100 yards last week, and Detroit has a terrible pass defense. Take Dallas to win and cover this contest on the road.
Pick: Dallas -4.5
Season Record: 1-12
