Angels Notes: Ohtani Playing Against Halos, New Competitor For Blake Snell and More

In this story:
Late Friday night, the Los Angeles Angels missed out on an opportunity to sign a player who had been linked to them all offseason. Third baseman Matt Chapman agreed to sign with the San Francisco Giants, giving the Halos another missed opportunity to improve the team.
The Angels remain interested in starter Blake Snell, but the Giants have emerged as a serious suitor for his services. Despite signing Chapman, San Francisco remains "very much in" on the Cy Young winner.
The Halos did take down the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday, with outfielder Aaron Hicks hitting a home run. And Shohei Ohtani will play against the Angels in their game Tuesday vs the Los Angeles Dodgers.
