New Dodgers Teammate 'Stoked' Shohei Ohtani Signed With Los Angeles

The Ohtani era is about to begin for the Dodgers.

James Outman is just one of the many Dodgers excited about the arrival of Shohei Ohtani this offseason. After the former Los Angeles Angels superstar was courted during free agency and had his pick from several teams, he decided to sign with the Dodgers.

As expected, his new team has been full of praise when talking about the addition of the two-time unanimous AL MVP.

"I was stoked when we got him, obviously," Outman told Doug McKain of dodgersnation.com at Dodgers Fan Fest. "I think the whole team was. I'm looking forward to seeing his bp."

Even with Ohtani only planning to hit this season as he recovers from a second Tommy John surgery, the Dodgers are excited and well aware of the impact Ohtani will bring to the team.

Along with Outman's excitement to see Ohtani's batting practice, several other Dodgers have raved about the superstar's unparalleled workout regime and general work ethic.

Outman also elaborated on what it means in general to play for the Dodgers organization, one of the most famous and historic in all the MLB.

"I feel like the Dodgers are one of the most loved organizations in the world," Outman added. "Wearing that name across your chest means a lot to everyone."

Of course, beyond Ohtani, Outman also adds to the excitement of the Dodgers squad heading into the 2024 season. Outman is coming off of a terrific rookie year in which he was the NL Rookie of the Month in April and named to the MLB Pipeline All-Rookie first team.
