After turning in one of the greatest World Series performances of all time against the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 3, Los Angeles Dodgers two-way All-Star Shohei Ohtani required medical attention.

Ohtani went 4-for-4 with two home runs, two doubles and three runs batted in during the Dodgers' 18-inning thriller in Game 3, drawing five intentional walks after he tied the game with his second home run of the game in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The star had more to do after the dramatic win, though, as the Dodgers slated him to start Game 4, which would come the following day. Per The New York Post's Jon Heyman, Ohtani received IVs after his historic Game 3 performance.

"Ohtani lasted into the seventh inning despite needing medical attention into the early morning that same day (the IVs were administered after midnight)," Heyman wrote. "Ohtani didn’t do interviews following his historic Game 3, when he reached base nine times out of nine before cramping up late, and it was first thought he’d left early to catch up on sleep. But he was witnessed being hustled out by Dodgers security past about 1 a.m. local time — an hour after the game — after having been in the trainers room since his enthralling, exhausting performance."

Ohtani took the mound the following day and put together a solid start, lasting six innings while striking out six, however the Dodgers couldn't keep up with the Blue Jays, and lost the game to even the series at two.

The Blue Jays didn't stop there though, also claiming Game 5 in dominant fashion to take a 3-2 series lead back to Toronto for the final games of the Fall Classic.

The Dodgers desperately need to find their offense and bounce back up north, as they are on the verge of postseason elimination for the first time this October. Yoshinobu Yamamoto will take the mound for Game 6, and will look to steer the Dodgers in the right direction and continue his recent string of strong starts.

Game 6 of the World Series begins Friday at 5:00 p.m. PT.
