Bo Naylor’s First Career Walk-Off Hit Seals Guardians’ Comeback Win Over White Sox

The Cleveland catcher’s walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning capped off a three-RBI game in the Guardians’ 7-6 victory on Wednesday night.

For the second consecutive game, the Cleveland Guardians found themselves down 5-0 early against the Chicago White Sox.

For the second consecutive game, Cleveland was able to tie the game at 5-5. This time, the Guardians were able to complete the comeback.

Bo Naylor hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Cleveland a 7-6 series-clinching victory on Wednesday night at Progressive Field. This was the 24-year-old’s first career walk-off hit at the Major League level.

Naylor led the way offensively for the Guardians. After entering the contest with two RBI in his first eight games this season, he recorded a team-high three RBI on Wednesday night.

The Cleveland catcher drove his first two runs of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. He hit a two-run home run to reduce the Guardians’ deficit to 5-3. This was his second home run of the season. It was also a historic swing, as it made he and his brother, Josh Naylor, become the fourth set of brothers to homer in the same inning twice in MLB history.

After going hitless in his previous four games, Bo tallied his third two-hit game of the season, going 2-for-4 at the plate with a run scored, a walk, and a strikeout.

The Guardians have now won each of their first four series to begin the season for the first time since 2002. Additionally, Cleveland’s 9-3 record through its first 12 games is the team’s best 12-game start since 2002, when it started the year 11-1.
