WATCH: Guardians Brothers Hit Homers In Same Inning
Cleveland Guardians: Josh Naylor and Bo Naylor become the fourth set of brothers to hit home runs in the same inning multiple times.
What’s the best way to spend National Siblings Day? How about hitting home runs in the same inning in a Major League Baseball game? Well, that’s exactly what the Cleveland Guardians’ set of brothers did on Wednesday evening.
Josh Naylor stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the fourth inning looking to get something going for his trailing Guardians team. He did just that by hitting a solo home run making it a 1-5 ball game. Josh’s home run traveled 432 feet and had an exit velocity of 109 mph.
Then, just three batters later, his younger brother Bo Naylor wanted to prove he could do anything his older brother could. Bo hit a two-run shot to bring the Guardians within two runs of the White Sox. Bo’s homer went 416 feet with an exit velocity of 105.1 mph.
It's awesome to see these two hit homers just minutes apart from each other. But believe it or not, it’s not the first time this has happened. On July 14, 2023, this duo hit home runs in the same inning against the Texas Rangers down in the Lone Star State
These two are now the fourth set of brothers to hit homers in the same inning on two separate occasions, per Sarah Langs (@SlangsOnSports). The other family members to accomplish this are B.J. and Justin Upton, Billy and Cal Ripken, and Lloyd and Paul Waner.
