Within this victory, Tylor Megill led the way with six shutout innings. Megill threw 88 pitches, 51 of them strikes, while walking two and striking out three.

Megill was initially supposed to begin the year with Triple-A Syracuse, but injuries thrust him into the big-league rotation and he has answered the bell.
For the second straight season, Megill has been called upon to join the Mets' rotation due to early season injuries.
Last year, Megill replaced Jacob deGrom as the Mets' Opening Day starter. In 2023, the righty is filling in for Justin Verlander.
In his first two starts of the season, Megill is 2-0 with a 1.64 ERA.
On offense, the Mets scored eight runs, which was all the support that Megill and the bullpen would need. Starling Marte, Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso all homered in this game. Lindor and Alonso went back-to-back in the bottom of the eighth. For Alonso, this was his 150th career home run, putting him at sixth all-time in Mets history. The Mets' offense also drew 12 walks.

The Mets are 4-4 on the season, with all of their wins coming against the Marlins. They will look to take the series on Saturday with Kodai Senga on the mound against left-hander Trevor Rogers.
