The Rockets acquired Trevor Ariza from the Wizards and sent Omer Asik to the Pelicans in a three-team trade on Sunday, according to NBA.com's David Aldridge.
Houston also received forward Alonzo Gee and New Orleans' 2015 protected first-round pick. In addition to Asik, who the Rockets had long been trying to trade, the Pelicans picked up forward Omri Casspi and $1.5 million from Houston. Washington got an $8.5 million trade exception and Melvin Ely's unguaranteed contract.
Ariza, a 10-year veteran, averaged 14.4 points and a career-high 6.2 rebounds per game last season for Washington, which advanced to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2005 and only the second time since 1982.
