Patrick Beverley Slams Karl-Anthony Towns for Inaction in Rudy Gobert-Draymond Green Dustup

76ers guard Patrick Beverley slammed ex-teammate Karl-Anthony Towns for not coming to the defense of Rudy Gobert when Warriors forward Draymond Green put the Timberwolves big man in a headlock during a dustup on Tuesday night.

Beverley, who was teammates with Towns during the 2021–22 season, couldn’t believe that Towns didn’t step up to help Gobert.

“KAT bogus as hell,” Beverley said on The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone on Wednesday morning. “KAT bogus man, straight up. And [Anthony Edwards] was back there too. … I see KAT doing a mean mug face, but then you ain’t doing s—! Choke Draymond back! So now if I’m Draymond, I’m like, ‘Yeah I choke they center and they homies didn’t do nothing. If we play in the playoffs, KAT I ain’t worried about you, you didn’t even help your homie.’ KAT, nah f— that. I taught you better than that.”

Draymond Green puts Rudy Gobert in a chokehold.

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green put Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a headlock during a scuffle early in Tuesday night’s game.

The in-game fight, which began with Warriors wing Klay Thompson and Timberwolves forward Jaden McDaniels getting tangled up at half court, continued when Gobert came to breakup the fight while Green put Gobert in a chokehold. Green, Thompson and McDaniels were all ejected from the game.

Gobert dubbed Green’s antics as “clown behavior” in postgame press availability, and claimed the Warriors forward always tries to get ejected from games when Steph Curry is out of the lineup.

Green is sure to face a suspension for his escalation of the situation between Thompson and McDaniels, who will likely face discipline of their own.

The Timberwolves beat the Warriors 104–101 to improve to 8–2 on the season.
