Sixers News: Tobias Harris Injury Update After Absence vs. Miami Heat

What's the latest on Philadelphia 76ers forward, Tobias Harris?

Heading into the Thursday night matchup against the Miami Heat, the Philadelphia 76ers had a few starters on the injury report listed as questionable to play.

Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid got the nod to go after feeling up for the challenge following their pregame warmup routines.

As for the veteran forward Tobias Harris, his situation was different.

Harris dealt with a minor knee injury in Philadelphia’s win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night. While Harris finished the game without any setbacks, he reportedly underwent an MRI on Thursday to get his knee checked out.

According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Harris’ MRI revealed a “bad bruise.” As a result, Harris is expected to miss a game or two.

In Miami on Thursday, Harris was downgraded to out for the first time since March 18. His absence against the Heat ended a seven-game stretch, where Harris didn’t deal with any setbacks that would take him off the court.

In Harris’ absence on Thursday, the Sixers took care of business against the Miami Heat by picking up a four-point victory.

Next up, Philly will face the Memphis Grizzlies on the road on Saturday. Harris’s status on the injury report for that matchup is currently questionable. Based on the initial reporting following Harris’ diagnosis, it appears there is a chance he could miss two games in a row.

The Sixers and the Grizzlies are set to tip-off at 8 PM ET on Saturday night.
