Joel Embiid's Historic Streak Continues vs. Hornets

In this story:
On Saturday night, the Philadelphia 76ers took on the Charlotte Hornets, looking to extend their win streak to five games, following an emphatic win against the Orlando Magic on Friday.
They would do just that at the Spectrum Center as Philadelphia had to fight tooth and nail to get the victory, with Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris contributing heavily to get their team over the edge.
Harris started off the game cold, only managing to put up six points throughout the first half, before heating up in the final two quarters, ending the match with 21 points, ten of which came in the closing quarter alone.
While Harris had a cold start to the game, the same could not be said for Embiid, who came out of the gates swinging, dropping 15 points in the first quarter alone.
Given that the 28-year-old had played all 12 minutes of the opening quarter, Nick Nurse decided to rest him for the first half of the second quarter, before coming in and adding five more points to his tally, ending the first half with 20 points.
The third quarter would see much of the same from Embiid, as he put up nine points, while also providing his team with three rebounds.
As the game came to a close, the Cameroonian superstar was able to add four more points to his name, ending the night with 33 points, making it his 20th consecutive game of scoring 30 or more points, with the streak dating back to mid-November.

Yet it isn't just an important personal milestone for the 28-year-old, as he becomes the third player in the history of the NBA to score 30 points in 20 consecutive games, joining Sixers legend Wilt Chamberlain, and former teammate James Harden.
Embiid's next opportunity to continue the streak will come on Monday night, as Philadelphia hosts Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.
