UPDATE: Tyrese Maxey has been ruled OUT against the Pistons on Tuesday.

Coming off of a big win against the San Antonio Spurs on the road, the Philadelphia 76ers are back at home on Tuesday night to host the Detroit Pistons.

Tyrese Maxey put the team on his shoulders during Sunday night’s victory. In a double-overtime thriller, the young guard checked in for nearly 54 minutes. During that time, Maxey put together a career-best performance, scoring 52 points on 46 percent shooting.

Clearly, Maxey’s hip tightness wasn’t a significant issue. While Sunday’s game served as an opportunity for Maxey to get some rest, the Sixers needed him for every minute down the stretch. As good as he looked, Maxey remains on the team’s injury report for Tuesday’s game.

According to the Sixers’ injury report, Maxey is questionable to play against the Pistons. Once again, Maxey’s setback is described as hip tightness.

While the All-Star has missed time due to his latest setback, he’s been available for the previous three games after going out for a two-game stretch.

After returning to the court last Thursday against the Miami Heat, Maxey checked in for 41 minutes to produce 37 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds.

Last Saturday, Maxey had a quiet night before getting some rest. After going 2-6 from the field to score seven points, Maxey wrapped up his night after 25 minutes. The Sixers went on to take down the Memphis Grizzlies with ease.

If Maxey can get the nod to play on Tuesday, he’ll appear in his fourth-straight game. If not, he’ll miss his second game this month, marking his 12th absence this year.

Getting Maxey to the postseason as healthy as possible is key for Philadelphia’s success during a potential playoff run. At the time time, the Sixers are looking to potentially win out for more favorable scenarios, such as cracking the sixth-seed or winning home-court advantage in the NBA Play-In Tournament.

Maxey will likely roll as a game-time decision for the Sixers on Tuesday. They tip-off against the Pistons at 7 PM ET.
