After being ruled out initially against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid has been upgraded to questionable.

According to Sixers head coach Nick Nurse, Embiid is considered a game-time decision and his status would depend on a pregame workout that was being conducted.

Embiid hasn’t been on the court for the Sixers since their January 30 matchup against the Golden State Warriors. After he returned from a two-game absence, Embiid checked in for nearly 30 minutes against the Golden State Warriors.

While Embiid was already battling a knee injury at the time, he suffered a different setback late in the game, which ended his night prematurely. Embiid underwent MRIs over the next couple of days and ultimately decided to get surgery after being diagnosed with a meniscus injury.

At this point, Embiid has missed 29 games in a row for the Sixers. With just a handful of games left in the regular season, the one-time MVP’s presence is much-needed, as the Sixers have fallen a few spots in the Eastern Conference since his absence started.

Before Embiid went out with his injury back in January, the big man was leading the MVP race. In 34 games, Embiid averaged a career-high 35 points on 53 percent shooting from the field. He was also producing six assists, while coming down with 11 rebounds per game during his first stretch of the year.

If all goes well during his workout, Embiid could check in for his 35th game this year.

The Sixers and the Thunder are set to tip-off at 7:30 PM ET.
