Sixers' Rival Projected To Miss Key Player For Remainder of Season

In this story:
The New York Knicks are "projected" to be without Mitchell Robinson for the remainder of the season, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
The setback comes after Robinson left the Knicks match against the Boston Celtics in early December with an injury to his left ankle, with the 25-year-old originally set to be re-evaluated after eight to ten weeks.
Yet, following Robinson's surgery for the stress fracture last week, his season is set to be over.
The loss of Robinson is huge for New York as Robinson has been a huge part of their season so far, appearing in each of the 21 matches he was available for, averaging six points, ten rebounds, and one block per game.
Since the 25-year-old was sidelined, Knicks' head coach Tom Thibodeau has decided to use a mix of Jericho Sims, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Taj Gibson as a way to patch the hole in their frontcourt, posting a record of 4-3, which slots them right in at fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
When do the Sixers play New York?
The Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks have yet to start their season series, with their first match-up coming on January 5, with the subsequent matches falling on February 22, March 10, and lastly, March 12.
Last season, the Knicks proved to be quite the challenge for the Sixers, as they only managed to pull out two wins out of the possible four as the Knicks squeaked past them in their first meeting before clearing them by ten points in their third meeting.
Depending on how the games between their meetings pan out, each match could have heavy implications on the Eastern Conference standings, given the relatively close distance between the two sides.
