Kevin Garnett declares Jrue Holiday as the best Milwaukee Bucks player in the second half of the season

In this story:
The Milwaukee Bucks are the best team in the NBA so far. While many players have played a role in their 51-20 record, NBA icon Kevin Garnett says Bucks guard Jrue Holiday has been a driving force for their freight train-like run through the NBA this season. The former league MVP even went as far as saying Holiday has been the team's best player in the second half of the season.
Difference in energy
KG was discussing the significance of Holiday's play this season for the league-leading Bucks with his former Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets teammate, Paul Pierce. Garnett was so impressed with the two-way guard's play that he believes Holiday is the Bucks' best player of the second half of the season.
"Jrue Holiday's the best player in the second half of the season," said Garnett. "It's only been what, 12 games or whatever but these games, I'm seeing the difference, I'm seeing the difference in energy."
Since the All-Star break, Holiday is averaging 18.4 points on 51% shooting, with 7.9 assists and 4.4 rebounds. More importantly, Holiday has helped the Bucks leapfrog the Celtics for the best record in the Eastern Conference while being the floor general of his squad.
Leading the pack
Pierce, though, argued that Holiday is one of the Bucks' best players but not THE best player—a distinction that belongs to the Greek Freak, Giannis Antetokounmpo, one of the favorites to win MVP this season.
However, Holiday's contributions and responsibilities on both ends of the floor cannot be overlooked. Jrue is a stabilizing force in the Bucks' rotation, helping create space for Giannis and allowing players like Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez, who have all played well this season, to get open looks.
"Jrue is leading the pack when it comes to the Bucks," added KG. "Milwaukee is on a real steamroll and don't nobody want to see it. They beat the brakes off of a very, very talented Kings team that plays great at home."
