On Tuesday, the Chicago Bulls hosted the worst team in the NBA, the Detroit Pistons, and still couldn’t get a win. In what is arguably the worst loss of the season, the Bulls couldn’t make a three-pointer to save their life and fell to the Pistons, 105-95, dropping them down to 27-31 for the season.

Faltered down the stretch

The Bulls seemingly had the game in control, leading by as many as 13 points, 42-29, in the early goings of the second quarter. However, Detroit trimmed the deficit to five, 55-50, at halftime and then grabbed the upper hand, 79-77, heading to the fourth.

Chicago last threatened at 89-88, but Detroit responded with a corner triple from Simon Fontecchio and three free throws from Cade Cunningham to raise their lead to seven. After the Bulls got two free throws from Coby White, Cunningham nailed a triple and a free throw while Duren added two more from the line to raise their lead to 11, 91-80, with 3:32 left.

The Bulls had numerous chances to pull closer but misfired on their three-pointers down the stretch. In all, Chicago made only two of their 29 attempts from beyond the arc.

The schedule doesn’t get easier

Nikola Vucevic led the Bulls with 25 points and 10 rebounds. DeMar DeRozan also had 25 markers and four assists. Andre Drummond came off the bench and chipped in 20 points and 11 boards. However, Coby White—the team’s second-best player—shot 2 of 14 and finished with only 10 points.

White, Alex Caruso, and Ayo Dosunmu went a combined 0-for-15 from three-point country.

“I was like laughing in my head because when you look at it — I think. what were we, 2 for 30? — that's just crazy,” Dosunmu said.

The Bulls won’t have time to lick their wounds as they play against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday. After that, they’ll battle the likes of the Milwaukee Bucks, Sacramento Kings, Utah Jazz, Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks, and the Los Angeles Clippers in a brutal stretch of games that may very well determine if the Bulls can advance to the Play-In Tournament.
