Torrey Craig has not missed the NBA Playoffs in the last five seasons, and hearing from the rugged forward, he doesn’t appear ready to end the trend any time soon. Despite having a talented roster led by its “Big 3” of DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Nikola Vucevic, the team missed the NBA Playoffs last season.

The Bulls front office hopes to change their fortunes with the acquisition of Craig, who firmly believes in the team’s potential to shock people this upcoming season.

Reap what you sow

After helping the Denver Nuggets and the Phoenix Suns to deep playoff runs, Craig hopes to provide the Bulls with what they need to get over the hump. He continues to implore the team to work hard when the spotlights are off so they can perform best when those are on.

“We get out of this season what we put in. If we’re not playing with energy or effort or guys aren’t sacrificing, then we’re going to struggle. If everybody buys in, I think we can beat anybody in this league,” Craig said.

Craig played 79 regular season games for the Suns last season, averaging 7.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. He also shot 39 percent from beyond the arc, providing the Suns with a much-needed outlet whenever defenses collapsed on Devin Booker and Kevin Durant.

Believes in the team’s potential

Craig knows the Bulls have the pieces necessary to make noise in the Eastern Conference. However, they lack the connector—such as Lonzo Ball—to make everything hum. Craig hopes to contribute in that capacity and bring intangibles that add up to winning.

“We have good players, a lot of talent. We have defenders. We have scorers. We have shooters. We have a great coaching staff. So if we put all that together, we can win every single night in this league. It just comes down to how consistent we’re going to be,” Craig concluded.
