Chicago Bulls gets ousted from the In-Season Tournament after suffering a 121-108 loss to the Toronto Raptors

In this story:
The Chicago Bulls got the boot from the NBA’s inaugural In-Season Tournament after suffering a 121-108 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Friday night at the Scotiabank Arena. The Bulls hold a 0-3 record in the In–Season Tourney with one more game left on their slate. The dark cloud hanging over the franchise has persisted as the team has now lost three straight and six of the last seven games to fall to 5-12.
Frustrations mounting
The Bulls just can’t get anything going these days. They trailed by 14 after the first, 36-22, and watched as that deficit grew to 20 as the Raptors constantly found an open teammate with their sharp ball movement. Toronto racked up an impressive 32 assists in the game, with center Pascal Siakam leading the Raptors with eight.
DeMar DeRozan, who was ejected with 1.4 seconds remaining in the game, couldn’t hide his frustrations after the Bulls’ latest loss.
“I can’t fake it, I’m frustrated,” DeRozan said. “Beyond frustrated, and I feel like it’s rightfully so, as a competitor.”

Defense left lacking
As great as the Bulls shot in the game (51%), Chicago couldn’t get enough stops to slow down the Raptors. Toronto made 53 percent of their shots in the game and scored 50 points in the shaded lane.
“We had no rim protection, nobody meeting anybody at the line,” Donovan said. “There was not enough physicality at the basket.”
O.G. Anunoby led the Raptors with 26 points, as six different players scored in double-figures for Toronto.
Zach LaVine had 36 points for the Bulls, making all but seven of his 23 attempts.
